Austin Texas gets hot and humid.
June in Austin is constant daily high temperatures. With daily highs around mid-90°F exceeding to 99°F throughout the month. The thought of rain would never occurs to us, Austinites.
It was a pleasant surprise for Austin to received several inches of rain during the last few weeks of June.
A couple weeks ago, there was a storm brewing for several days right before the weekend.
The air was thick with it and I was a little doubtful if the sun was even going to come out for Lynn’s birthday boat barge party that Saturday.
Saturday rolled around just in time as the rain drops dried up and the weather was just perfect for a chockfull of fun day on the lake.
We weren't the only one ecstatic to be out on the lake on this beautiful day.
James tried to make this birthday boat party a surprise for L but it didn't quite work out that way. It's almost impossible to sneak anything undetected under her nose. But J&L are just perfect for each other. Just look at them.

Not only was I happy to be a part of the celebration. I am thrilled Chris came along for the fun festivities as well. You have to understand, it is a rare occasion for me to see these good ol' familiar faces let alone for C to get a chance to hang out with them. It was like Chris get to see a piece of my past I shared with some of the friends I will never forget.
Anyway, let's go back to the beginning of the party.
Here's the glimpse of the present past. Get it?
These watermelon soaked vodka were delicious.
It's safe to say Wani love 'em mouth-watering pieces of vodka watermelon.
The birthday girl's choice of liquor is...Kinky.
Flavored Kinky - to be exact.
While others prefer handles of rum.
Like L, I prefer flavored Kinky over Capt' Morgan.
Maybe, I just like the name...but it sure is tasty.
Kinky Liqueur is a naughty infusion of super premium vodka distilled with succulent mango, blood orange liqueur, and passion fruit.
As the boat barge docked at its destination, the drinking slowly down for a minute and everyone was either engrossed in conversation, posed for the camera or jumped in the cool lake water.
I was one of the very few that didn't get in the water.
Not because I don't know how to swim.
I had an important job to do - capture these photos for L's birthday ;)
Just look at 'em showing off.
Actually, I'm a bit envious.
These four right here...just you wait to see the next photo.
Wait for it...
Wait...Wait...
The boat was swaying back and forth non-stop as we tried to get a group photo.
Don't let those beers in our hands tell you other wise.
Cuties overload.
These two are one of the cutest couples I know.
And D recently proposed to K on their vacation in Hawaii!
As everyone else were drinking cold beer in the water, J was busy with the hot dogs at the grill.
After all the jumping, swimming & climbing hunger strikes everyone as J has suspected - hence the grilling hot dogs.
Even the captain couldn't help himself and had a couple hot dogs.
And I found the mister hiding nearby with his.
Then the cycle continues...drinking, jumping off the boat, swimming and posing for the camera were on repeats.
Here comes the happiest birthday girl.
Our rock, paper & scissor pose.
L & her many more poses.
On the other hand, I've always wanted to be the captain.
It wouldn't be a birthday party without cake & candles now would it?
And the icing fun began...
As the sun starts to set and the boat heads back to the dock - the glow sticks appear and the dance party begins.
Per usual I takes way too many photos.
Lucky for you, my camera died here.
Happy birthday, L!
Hope you like all the photos.
