A couple Fridays ago the Mr took me to see Lindsey Stirling.
The concert (which I'll get to later) is at Stubb's on Red River & E 8th St.
We arrived early and took a stroll around downtown Austin. Enjoying the last of the sunshine and peeking in & out of restaurants for tasty cocktails to sip on and food to dig in.
This gold & black top has been neglected (never been worn) and I'm not sure why!
You already know I'm obsessed with all things gold & black and I don't think I've ever had more compliments on a top.
Paired with Free People skinny denim, Mix No. 6 black cutout heels (similar here), and a Oliver Peoples sunnies - it had me feeling fancy yet comfortable. Just what you want on a date night.
Ok, that's enough about the get-up.
I know you're keen to get into where we decided to grab a bite and get stuck in, right?
I feel the same way. So let's get to it...
Welcome to Pelon.
It's a Tex-Mex restaurant right across from Stubb's - just a hop, skip & jump away, literally!
Surprisingly, the weather was beautiful that early evening...we opted for outdoor seatings under the shady, ginormous oak tree.
We dived into the food right away as our growling belly couldn't wait a minute longer.
We started with chips & salsa.
Chris went for fish tacos with mango pico de gallo and jicama slaw drizzles with poblano cream sauce.
And I ordered hand-pulled chicken & monterey cheese enchiladas garnish with lettuce, pico de gallo and ranchero sauce, and a side of cilantro rice.
All chased down with a couple Mexican Martinis.
Regular for the Mr and spicy for moi.
He had a difficult time pouring all the liquor into his glass.
I offered to help but the man insisted "he got it".
Well...this GIF says otherwise.
After the second pour, he gave in and slide the martini glass & canister over for me to help.
The trick is...to unscrew the small top...
The Mr rolled his eyes and called me a cheater.
What can I say? Work smart, not hard!
The food was decent - everything tastes delicious when you're hungry.
The margaritas definitely hit the spot.
I'd definitely comes back again for (Spicy) Mexican Martinis.
Having our fills martinis we hopped, skipped and jumped over the street to Stubb's for Lindsey Stirling concert.
Sadly, they did not allow "professional" camera or any camera the doesn't not fit in your shirt/jean pocket. So here's a couple grainy photos from my phone.
See you next time!

My spicy version definitely has a kick and a punch to it.
