Hopdoddy

Wanna know a secret?
I know where to find the best burger in town.
And its name has quite a ring to it.
Hop. Dod. Dy. Hopdoddy.
Well, it's not exactly a secret because there is almost always a long queue.
Rain or shine, hot humid or cold you betcha there's a long line of people waiting anxiously to get their hands on these bad boys.

Chatter up, engage in conversation and order a cold beer or a frozen margarita to get started.
It makes the waiting not so tedious...before you know it your burger & fries are begging you to take a bite and the rest is history.

It's big.
It's juicy.
It's...mouthwatering.

The patty is unbelievably soft, without being sloppy.
It's soft enough not to put up a fight, but strong enough to hold the beast together and to maintain the integrity of the burger.
Angus beef, crispy bacon, poblano chili pepper, and pepper jack cheese.
All gently nestled between the golden, char grilled buns & a blanket of crispy onions.
This is a thing of beauty, Llano Poblano.

The Goodnight?
Oh, the Goodnight.
It's piled high with Angus beef, Tillamook cheddar cheese oozing all over, jalapenos slices & caramelized onion and slathered with hickory bbq & sassy sauce.

Their "bread&butter pickles" were deliciously crunchy!
And a side of Kennebec fries to share.

All washed down with cold, frosty margaritas.

Having seen the shakes piled high with whipped cream passing by we ordered one to take on the road. We opted for the Red Velvet shake. It's quite good but the caramel & sea salt we had the time before last is still my favorite.

If you haven't given it a go, or if you're an out of towner planning a trip, Hopdoddy should be on your to do list. It is well worth a visit. As mentioned earlier I should warn you, there's usually a long queue. If you don't want to wait in a long line for food, try and avoid peak times (lunch, dinner & weekends) or try to grab open seats at the bar (first come, first serve).
